This cemetery is located about 2 miles from the historic stone home of Ariantje Coeymans Verplank. Ariantje was the daughter of Barent Pietresse Coeymans founder of the "castle"

It is written that in the years following the Norman conquest of England, some of the Waldrons from the southern part of England became refugees in Holland. Rudolph Waldron fought in the second Crusades where he showed great valor in the taking of Jerusalem in 1099. For this, in 1128, he was made a baron and granted a coat of arms and a large manor by the Dutch Government. Family lore proclaims that Johannes Waldron is descended from this Baron Rudolph Van Waldron.
Johannes Rudolph Waldron b. 1560 England d. 1609 Netherlands (Grandfather to Resolved Waldron b. 1610 Holland and d. 1690 at Harlem, New York and grandfather to Joseph Waldron who died at New Amsterdam 1663.
